About the evening program on Monday: We have the unique opportunity to go and see a concert in the Etnosoi! concert series. We have negotiated a special price for the participants of our conference. If you’d like to attend the concert, please purchase your tickets through this link. If you want to find out more information about the concert, please visit the website here (in English) or here (in Finnish).
The Orthodox evening vesper on Monday is free of charge. The same applies to the Road Ensemble concert on Tuesday, which is for our conference only.
The concert on Tuesday is held by Farshad Sanati and Pekka Toivanen. Sanati is a santoor-artist and an expert in the older and contemporary Middle-Eastern tradition. The music he performs combines old Sufi poetry (Roumi etc.) with older and more contemporary music without forgetting improvisation and different kinds of emotions.
Conference dinner for those who registered and paid for it will be served at the restaurant Factory, which is about a 10-minute walk away from the conference venue.
Coffee and what comes with it are provided by the conference. In providing the coffee, we co-operate with the Finnish research project “Omistajuus, kieli, kulttuuriperintö – kansanrunousideologiat Suomen, Karjalan tasavallan ja Viron alueilla”.
Lunch, however, everyone has to provide for themselves. There are several options near the conference venue and members of the organising committee are happy to help in case you don’t know Helsinki that well.
